    Concrete is an unambiguous favorite in construction, it is impossible to erect various kinds of structures without it. Despite the high strength characteristics, this material can be deformed under the influence of various factors. As you know, concrete withstands shrinkage well, but stretching not so well. Therefore, the reinforcement of concrete structures will increase the wear resistance of buildings.

    Advantages of reinforcement of concrete structures

    Previously, metal rods were mainly used for reinforcement. However, now the most popular is the reinforcement of concrete with a composite mesh.

    Reinforcement of concrete building structures with composite mesh has a number of advantages, including:

    • high strength of the bond of fiberglass with concrete;
    • withstands strong temperature changes;
    • prevents the appearance of delamination and cracks in the concrete;
    • extends the service life of the structure;
    • the stiffness index increases;
    • significantly increases the permissible mechanical and power loads;
    • the grid is quite simple to install.

    The size of the cells and the diameter of the fiberglass mesh is selected depending on the type of concrete structure being erected.

    Why reinforce gypsum elements?

    Quick mixtures based on gypsum have greatly simplified finishing and painting work inside buildings. It is much easier and faster to work with gypsum plaster than, for example, with cement. Gypsum products are characterized by good noise insulation. Such interior products as gypsum panels, stones for walls, dry plaster, various architectural details, etc. are made of this material. However, to strengthen the gypsum layer, it is necessary to use a special reinforcing mesh. Reinforcement with a composite mesh of gypsum building structures allows:

    • increase the durability of the finishing layer;
    • increase crack resistance;
    • increase fire resistance (gypsum does not completely collapse even with prolonged exposure to fire);
    • work with gypsum on a large area (without reinforcement, this material may fall off);
    • increase the strength of the product during shrinkage of the building or mechanical impact;
    • reduce the influence of temperature and humidity on gypsum products;
    • ensure reliable adhesion of the gypsum mortar to the wall.

    Also, the reinforcement of gypsum products is mandatory if there are vibration effects on the walls inside the room.

    The most optimal humidity in the room where glass-gypsum products are used is up to 70-75%.

    Advantages of reinforcing structures with fiberglass mesh:

    • increase the strength of the product when bending;
    • due to the plasticity and flexibility of the fiberglass mesh, it is possible to reinforce surfaces of various shapes;
    • installation work is quite easy and fast, because the fiberglass mesh is well cut and easily attached to the wall;
    • the composite material does not have a “shape memory”, so you do not need to wait for its straightening, but you can start working immediately after unpacking;
    • composite mesh is a universal material that can be used for both indoor and outdoor work.
